This bill removes the penalty of loss of appeal for property owners who refuse to grant consent to assessing officials to inspect their property, and provides for the use of an inventory blank for the necessary property information. The bill also revises the requirements for the taxpayer inventory blank and the penalty for willfully misrepresenting the information on the inventory blank. I am the primary sponsor of this bill.

This bill repeals New Hampshire’s regional greenhouse gas initiative cap and trade program for controlling carbon dioxide emissions. I am a leading co-sponsor on this bill.

This bill repeals the home education statute; permits parent-directed instruction programs; and asserts that it is the natural right of a parent to determine and direct the instruction of his or her child and limits the involvement of the state in parent-directed instruction programs only to cases in which there is probable cause to believe that a parent is not instructing his or her child. I am a leading co-sponsor on this bill.

This constitutional amendment concurrent resolution provides that the state shall not abridge the responsibility of parents for the health, education, and welfare of their children. I am a co-sponsor of this amendment.

This bill makes it a misdemeanor for an officer of the government to interfere with or withhold medical services from legal residents of New Hampshire. I am a co-sponsor of this bill.

This bill transfers the authority to collect the education property tax from the municipalities to the department of revenue administration. The bill establishes a program for the rebate of excessive education property tax payments made by eligible taxpayers in the state. Claims for rebates shall be made to the department of revenue administration and qualifying claims shall be paid from the interest which accumulates on education property taxes collected by the department. I am a co-sponsor of this bill.

This bill removes the duty to retreat in the face of an attack; creates the presumption that an attacker or intruder intends to cause serious bodily injury and permits force, including deadly force, to be used to protect oneself, one’s family, and others; and provides that a person using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force and prohibits a perpetrator or a perpetrator’s family from suing a victim for injuring or killing the perpetrator.
